Rheda-Wiedenbrück, 14 June 2024. The German Award for Sustainability Projects, now in its fourth year, pays tribute to companies and projects that drive transformation. Under the patronage of former Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries, the award aims to make commitment to sustainable practices visible and inspire other companies to embrace sustainability.
The family-owned company’s system to take back disused COR furniture from private individuals and contract clients is exemplary in terms of its sustainability vision, according to the jury’s statement. “This award confirms our sustainability policy and sends an important signal to other market players. Our sector has the opportunity to present itself in a modern, sustainable and attractive way with second-hand concepts. It’s the logical way forward if we want to remain successful in our market in years to come,” commented Leo Lübke, Managing Partner of COR.
With its CORever programme, the company is actively contributing to the reduction of furniture waste and promoting the circular economy. The conscious use of existing resources also promotes a sustainable way of life and living, offering a new target group access to affordable, high-quality and German-made furniture.
There were 70 award-winning projects out of a total of 342 nominations in 28 categories spanning all sectors of industry. The jury assessments were based on four main criteria of efficiency/benefits of the project, innovation, relevance to the company’s core business and topicality.
