Success for COR at Design District Rotterdam

The premium brand put on an impressive display of its contract furniture at the Netherlands’ most important interior design trade fair, Design District Rotterdam, between 29 and 31 May. This year is the seventh iteration of the furniture industry event in the historic Van Nelle factory.

Rheda-Wiedenbrück, 13 June 2024. Contemporary pieces of seating furniture for distinctive interior design that are used in spaces where people wait, work, meet or visit as guests are what German seating furniture manufacturer COR is famous for. For more than three decades the family-run company has specialised in developing products and customised solutions for the residential and the contract furniture sectors. Both benefit from the high level of vertical integration and the short distances between departments at the production site in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.

One of the items presented by COR at Design District was the classic Trio sofa – a design by team form ag dating back to 1973. The modular system with optional partition wall and integrated sockets can be quickly converted into an additional guest bed, making it ideal for hospitals, hotels or holiday homes. The Level height-adjustable worktable and the Drop collection almost instantly transform individual workspaces into meeting points. One of this year’s new products was also on show: the Echo side table by Munich-based designer Lukas Heintschel.

Project partners and architects appreciate COR furniture for its reduced aesthetic appeal and functionality. Immaculate workmanship and excellent material quality additionally ensure that the furniture is long-lasting and easy to repair, thereby supporting the sustainable use of resources. The company makes a strong pro-environment statement with its CORever second-life programme which takes back and refurbishes disused COR furniture so that it can be used again.

Digital tech companies like Google, Netflix and Spotify, as well as various banks, hotels and corporate headquarters (examples: Otto, BP, Telekom and DHL) are all COR customers. The Lufthansa Business Lounges around the world have been furnished with COR armchairs for around 30 years. Other flagship projects include the G20 summit in Hamburg, the G7 summit at Schloss Elmau, the cruise liners MS Europa/MS Europa 2 and the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre.
