Summit with COR

The G20 summit was held in Hamburg from 7 to 8 July 2017, and some of its furnishings came from East Westphalia.

As early as the beginning of July, the 151 custom-made upholstered chairs travelled from the Rheda-Wiedenbrück factory to Hamburg to be tested one last time before the G20 summit and to be included in the furnishings of the plenary hall. The "Jalis" model, which was used in the plenary hall on the premises of the Hamburg Messe for the G20 summit from 7 to 8 July, had already been selected in the spring. The first sampling not only had to satisfy the aesthetic requirements stipulated. The upholstered chair chosen was also convincing with regard to functional seating comfort at conferences lasting several hours. The basic model Jalis was then slightly modified in the factory in order to make the armrests somewhat more slender and the seating surfaces a little more generous. A visual reference to the host nation Germany could be seen in the solid oak wood on which the upholstered seat shell rests. This was covered with a natural wool material from the southern German weaving mill rohi. Customised products like this are part and parcel of COR's high standards. The modern manufacturing plant also allows a high degree of seating furniture customisation in accordance with architects' plans for the contract segment. "If our furniture helped to create a good working atmosphere, then we are very happy," says Leo Lübke, Managing Director of COR. "And we can certainly say that we 'sat in' on the G20 summit, albeit silently."
