Home is where the heart is

Live it up in the New Year! Create your own personal favourite place with furniture from COR (Latin for heart). Premiere imm cologne, 14 to 20 January, Hall 11.3, Stand ST10/UT19

COR is also launching the living year in new architecture with an imaginatively staged collection: The trade fair stand designed by kräling_lübke presents the brand world as intimate hemispheres for contemporary interiors. This private realm is linked to personality through a communicative forum, with access points on both sides turning the entrance area into a covered passageway. The immediate focus here is on the new creations of the premium brand: Metrica's Avalanche sofa, which is versatile, elegant and finely functional, and Jehs+Laub's Alvo upholstered chair, which is as modern as it is comfortable, are the highlights of the artistically arranged overall exhibition. Similar to a gallery, some of the exhibits, including Alvo, are also presented as serigraphs.

Sofas for new habits, including the Love Seat

Whether it is the newly presented Avalanche or the established design classic Conseta: COR sofas have comfortable design features that provide spontaneous and constant inspiration. The innovative upholstery range is combined only with purist Sting tables. Nothing distracts the eye from its aesthetics, elegant form and high-quality materials. Technical refinements for adapting to individual sitting habits remain invisible. In addition to lavishly soft sofas and individual easy chairs, a voluminous Love Seat for cosy togetherness will be shown for the first time. Conseta's current configuration examples also look unmistakably self-contained, formally versatile and beautifully integrative. Even at the age of 55, this young sofa classic is open to interesting partnerships – with beautiful individual easy chairs (Flint), comfortable poufs (Drop) or cosy lounge chairs (Cordia). The inviting recamier combination offered by Pilotis proves how commodious it can be to occupy sofas horizontally. The modern furniture concept even comes with its own architectural periphery. On shelves, larger or smaller tables made of fine woods, things you have grown fond of always remain within easy reach.

Private club and lounge life

The joys of living together grow with the retreats that we can occupy all by ourselves. Just lean back, put your feet up, close your eyes; the Sinus easy chair is perfect for relaxing breaks. In 2019, the characteristic spring steel skids with their shimmering black metal surfaces have become even more beautiful, the roll-shaped upholstery with soft materials even more comfortable. Does furniture also have a family life? Mell is one of the best examples. And as occasionally occurs in life, its members initially seem a bit stern to the outside world. But inside, where they are soft and extremely comfortable, they show emotion. The purist-cubist founder of the family was followed by the more feminine Mell Lounge with softer sofas and easy chairs, the latest development being an upholstered bench for socialising in the living and dining area. "This is where Mell lives" means always having the right furniture in the right place. A dynamic group picture is created around the table (Delta) when chairs (Jalis) and an upholstered bench without back or armrests (Bridge) are placed at its side. After all, modern seating does not have to be arranged in rows. When cooking, eating or chatting, people like to remain open to all sides. The upholstered room divider Chart is also suitable for living in homely zones that are not limited by walls but shaped by functions.

Like living on clouds

When it comes to an attitude to life that is as light as a feather in all situations, Moss has got it covered. COR's contemporary divan achieves its owners' desired floating state with a wealth of exquisite materials, including voluminous down fillings and padded coverings. Since its premiere in 2018, Moss has been regarded as the softest, most comfortable model in the entire collection, interpreting maximum seating comfort in a new design language. Naturally, "cloud nine" sensations can also be fully savoured unaccompanied. The sumptuous, beautifully crumpled upholstered cushion of the Cordia Lounge Chair is also filled with down; the tilt function for the backrest can now also be operated electrically. Only one problem remains: getting up voluntarily from the exceptionally comfortable upholstery.

Completely in their element

Upholstered shell + cushions + boxes = Floater. The modular furniture range is designed for sitting, reading, communication and storage. Easy chairs and sofas can be used to create any number of new variants with smaller or larger island solutions. The clear design language signals modernity and mobility. Sensual materials such as woods, fabrics and upholstery, on the other hand, convey a homely intimacy.
Elementary seating pleasure is provided not least by Trio as a casual sofa which can be transformed into reclining furniture or even into a guest bed in a few simple steps. The interplay of the wonderful possibilities requires only three things: seat element, back-armrest and stool. The prize is smaller favourite places or entire living landscapes. In homage to the days of Flower Power, Trio (first draft in 1972) is presented again with cuddly covers for the first time. Thanks to an exclusive combination of materials, the new "flokati" is now naturally in even better shape.

An intensive and successful week in Milan has come to an end. We would like to thank the numerous guests for the inspiring exchange. For those who couldn't attend, some impressions of our new designed showroom in Brera.

Siwa is the name of an oasis in Egypt’s Western Desert. It is also the name of a sofa promising an oasis of calm in the midst of a hectic world. The island sofa was designed by the Altherr Désile Park studio in Spain and realised by seating furniture…
