Let it flow: the COR presentation at Orgatec 2018

"Flow" is the word used by psychologists to describe a state of happiness in which people are completely absorbed in their occupation. At Orgatec 2018 from 23 to 27 October in Cologne, Hall 10.2, Stand Q10/P11, COR will be demonstrating just how much sensuous interior design contributes to this state. (Please note: Final pictures available on 2018-10-29)

Open space or multispace are the office forms of the future. And yet our need for comfort remains in the collective space. The Affair contract furniture range, which envelops the COR stand like a cocoon, is made for this purpose. High backs shield the seating groups from the outside world, while various breaks offer passageways and a view into the interior. The linear, round and undulating upholstered elements form a generous yet intimate space. Wherever the visitor takes a seat, a different context opens up: Everything flows (panta rhei) - this idea has been valid since antiquity. Peter Kräling, who developed the stand concept with stylist Irina Graewe, takes it up in alternating configurations and combines Affair with various tables, easy chairs and high-back chairs, stools and bar stools.

Geometry and fantasy

Five thematic islands create alternating scenarios, marked by geometrically offset floor coverings in soft colours. The entrance area is flanked on the left by a Mell seating group in soft blue and green tones, while on the right a private work lounge designed with Floater elements invites visitors to linger and unwind. Mobile laptop tables as well as stools and poufs from the Bond and Drop collections form a flexible periphery, their round forms contrasting with the orthogonal sofas and easy chairs. The third thematic island is conducive to informal meetings. Bench and table (Bridge and Level) serve here as communication-enhancing tools, open to all sides. If the number of participants grows and more seating or storage space is needed, a few Drops – stools or poufs – are simply added. The more traditional tools remain in plain grey and white, while the assistants provided appear in orange, bottle green and cobalt blue.

Laissez-faire in a new setting

Co-working is about combining motivation and well-being. And sometimes you also have to be able to give things – and yourself – free rein. This modern "laissez-faire" is served by sofas and easy chairs in the public areas as well as in the office. For this purpose, expansive Trio elements have been combined with the cosy Cordia Lounge Chair and a graceful cocktail easy chair. The serving trolley and side table from the Bond collection, lacquered in ochre and green tones or sienna brown, are useful accessories.

The fifth theme island and the room divider Chart show how a piece of furniture can also be used to create smaller, multifunctional zones. Functioning like a theatre backdrop, its front and rear sides are designed differently, as a temporary workstation or as a partition wall for an easy chair combination. Thanks to a variety of shelving and storage surfaces, even its interior is functionally effective. The material combination comprises oiled ash wood and upholstery fabrics in salmon orange; this contrasts with the Scope range of contract furniture, with which vertically oriented spaces can be configured. At Orgatec 2018 it surprises with a base and attachment elements in dark orange-red, the seats in blue-green.

We cannot predict exactly when you will have your next flow experience. But you will feel it – and COR cordially invites you to do so:
