COR is exhibiting in the Stoff-Pavillon Moeller at idd cologne

German seating furniture manufacturer COR will present a range of new products and product upgrades in the Stoff-Pavillon Moeller at idd cologne, which debuts its new “urban only” format from 26 to 29 October 2025. COR’s minimalist design language perfectly resonates with the architectural clarity and balanced proportions of Wilhelm Riphahn’s 1950s building.

The Stoff-Pavillon Moeller in Cologne is elegant, light and spacious – an ideal setting for timeless living aesthetics and seating furniture that integrates seamlessly into the open environment. Products on display include the Siwa sofa with its organic form and softly curved contours, and the low-set Jalis sofa with its folded cushion design,

two models that perfectly reflect the spirit of the times. Modern sofas are spaces for lounging, resting, chatting or curling up together. These days, people tend to sit upright around the kitchen table rather than on the sofa. The Kagu chair, recipient of the German Design Award, and the extensively updated Mell upholstered bench, now configurable for round tables, provide stylish and comfortable seating options. Long chats? Yes please!

The home has become a personal sanctuary – a tranquil antidote to the fast-paced, digital world outside. It therefore comes as no surprise that most homes are designed to be oases of well-being in light, warm and friendly colours, incorporating natural materials such as wood and soft haptics. Whether we call it homing or cocooning, and whether it stems from conviction or necessity, one thing remains certain: our home is the centre of our lives – the foundation of our well-being and our personal comfort zone. It’s a place of security and calm – a space that unites natural authenticity with contemporary design in perfect harmony.

Mell bench: minimalism meets craftsmanship
Design: Jehs+Laub

On the outside, the Mell bench (derived from mellow) has a defined edge and a straight back, emphasised by the wide felled seam. Inside, on the other hand, it features gently rounded back cushions and a separate seat cushion. The streamlined tubular steel frame with rounded internal angles further emphasises the linear design. Overall, the bench has an aesthetically timeless sofa-like look with a welcoming and cosy vibe. The new elements transform the bench into a universal seating system. They can be arranged in “S” configurations, circles or semicircles, lined up infinitely to create elongated benches, or used in combination with low or high backrests and armrests, or none at all. With its overhang element and storage shelf, as well as the Mell bistro tables, it is the ideal solution for waiting areas, educational institutions or offices – complemented by optional under-table sockets with magnetic cable guidance.

Kagu chair – the essence of modern seating furniture
Design: Jehs+Laub

Its design is a tribute to clarity. Harmonious lines, precise geometries and pared back material usage give the Kagu chair an air of lightness, yet also robustness. The slender wooden legs, which extend up to the armrests and are connected by a central stabilising wooden cross, provide the architectural framework for the seating surface, which appears to float in the frame. Under-seat suspension enhances user comfort and adds movement. The padded shell is clamped into the base frame, where it swings freely. Kagu effortlessly blends into a wide variety of living and working spaces – both as a stand-alone piece in a minimalist loft apartment, as an item of office furniture or as part of a large dining room ensemble. It has a discreet yet distinctive presence and, despite the purposefully subtle aesthetics, it is full of character.

Siwa sofa – a tribute to the organic design language of nature
Design: Altherr Désile Park

The upright back of the Siwa sofa also curves inwards, creating a sensual and inviting effect that hints at a warm embrace. Seams that are never completely linear and further emphasise the amorphous body are another design highlight. This is not an example of traditional seating furniture, but a piece of lounge furniture with distinctively elegant design attributes. Siwa is both a social hub and a multifunctional space within a space: perfect for reading, chatting, working, or relaxing. Yet the iconic typology is still functional, striking a balance between object and interior. It provides a space for personal encounters, interaction, resting, relaxation and recuperation. The sofa collection is now complemented by another side table with a tablet on top that can also be placed directly on the sofa if required.

Jalis sofa – space for serenity
Design: Jehs+Laub

Inspired by the oriental art of lounging, the Jalis sofa programme arranges folded cushions in a seamless row for its back and seating. The low-set design and the luxurious cushions invite the user to seek cosy relaxation in the comfort of their own home rather than elsewhere. Elegant decorative stitching – either tone-in-tone or in a contrasting colour – provides additional contour definition. The new recliner element opens up fresh opportunities for designing comfortable, contemporary living spaces that can be adapted to various thoughtfully planned, individual and captivating interior design concepts. There is no better place than this to be immersed in the tales of the Arabian Nights, which, as we all know, never truly end.
