The new COR Haus

Since the end of November 2015, the seating manufacturer COR has been running the property at Hauptstraße 74 independently. It originally opened as the "COR und interlübke Haus" in 2008. The newly designed "COR Haus" with its innovative utilisation concept, also houses an art gallery and a law firm. Its size (5,000 square metres) and design as a convivial centre make it an internationally unique brand showroom, which for the first time in the company's history also includes a trade exhibition centre for the contract sector.

When the joint exhibition activities of COR and interlübke in Rheda-Wiedenbrück ceased in June 2015, Leo Lübke, Managing Partner of COR and owner of the property at 74 Hauptstraße, immediately decided to continue running it as an exclusive COR brand centre. Its utilisation concept has been extended to include a new contract exhibition, and part of the property has been rented to the Hoffmann art gallery and the law firm Wrede. "We reach a wider audience via appropriate target groups from the arts and business sectors. In turn, for the first time, we offer architects and planners a generously designed forum with our newly-created trade exhibition for the contract sector. This sector accounts for approximately 15 percent of the total annual sales of approximately EUR 36.7 million."

New target groups, more space for special themes

The Hoffmann art gallery opened its exhibition business in June, and shortly thereafter the Wrede law firm moved into its new premises in the COR Haus. At the same time, work began on the transformation and refurnishing of the bistro and the conference and training area. Greater renovation measures were necessary for the ground floor of the right wing of the building (formerly used by interlübke). Here, a completely new 800m² exhibition space, together with facilities, has been created for the contract sector. It incorporates a space for temporary exhibitions of new models (currently TRIO) or events. The COR COLLECTION has been moved to a larger space in the basement. Around 60 items are now on display in the left wing of the building. This exhibition of our model history, embodied by significant seating and upholstered furniture from 1954 onwards, will be completed in all its finer details by the end of the year.

Great response from the outset

In September, we presented the new brand centre to our international trading partners and also premièred the new upholstered furniture range TRIO. Around 50 architects visited the newly created contract exhibition on 27 November as part of a tour of manufacturing locations in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. "The enthusiastic response to this 'trial run' confirmed that our investment in one of the world's largest brand centres is a further asset for COR's development and for the Rheda-Wiedenbrück location," said Leo Lübke. Six people are employed at the exhibition centre at Hauptstraße 74. In total, 206 are employed in administration and production at the COR plant at Nonenstraße 12 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
