50Hertz

The new office of the grid operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH in Berlin has created numerous team areas, open communication spaces and smaller quiet zones and concentration areas across four open-plan floors, ensuring that the wide range of flexible working options meets the diverse needs of staff. These combine with tried-and-tested workplace models and are framed by an architectural design that has a distinctly industrial character, characterised by extensive use of exposed concrete and exposed installations. To enhance the emotional appeal and quality of the spaces, special oases – such as two cafés – have been integrated for users. With their dynamic and vibrant colour schemes and a diverse selection of comfortable furniture, these spaces invite people to linger and interact. The combination of raw architecture with vibrant colour schemes creates exciting contrasts and harmonious interactions between the different areas. Earthy, deep reds meet a light ice blue and blend with the cool grey of the surroundings. Added to this are transparent zoning elements in the form of shelving units with integrated planting. This interplay of high-contrast design and small, green accents brings the space to life, creates a sense of well-being and stimulates creativity and interaction.
