Naturally durable
We are passionate about good design and the very best quality. At COR, this means operating responsibly. Environmental, economic and social considerations naturally complement one another.
For more than 70 years, we at COR have been planning, producing and acting in a way that today would be called sustainable. Because we are a family business that thinks in decades rather than quarters. Because we manufacture exclusively in Germany and therefore to high environmental and social standards. And because we build high-quality furniture that does not end up on the bulky waste pile after two moves but accompanies its owners through many homes and stages of life. And which, in the best sense, may therefore be called, well, durable and resource-efficient.

At COR, we have been living sustainability for decades. It is in fact a major reason why COR is in such robust health and so successful.
What drives us
A continuous process
We view sustainability as an ongoing process that we continually refine—regardless of how external conditions change. We develop, question, and improve ourselves.
The effort and money we put into the training and development of our employees and into health programmes, for example, are at the same time investments in the skill, knowledge and capability of our most important resource. The heating we run on our own wood waste, with which we fire the plant's own mini power station, first of all benefits the climate and the environment. Because wood, a local and renewable raw material, is simply far more ecological than fossil gas or oil. We consistently avoid the use of tropical wood, heavy metals and hazardous fuels.
We were able to reduce our CO2e emissions by 30% between 2020 and 2025. We offset site-specific emissions that we have not yet been able to reduce.

Reporting in accordance with GRI
We have already been able to implement or initiate many of the measures we set out to achieve. Our sustainability strategy to date has included 6 focus areas, 9 sub-goals, and 24 projects. Full details can be found in our sustainability report.
Planning for further measures is scheduled for 2026—so that we can continue to measure our performance against our own strategy and stay on track with our goals.
Proof of Quality
Certificates and Seals of Approval

All COR upholstered furniture carries the Blue Angel label — proof of its particular environmental friendliness.

The Greenguard certificate confirms it: we keep volatile organic emissions in indoor air to an absolute minimum.

All solid wood used by COR is FSC- or PEFC-certified and comes from sustainably managed forests in Germany.

Second Life Program
Now CORever!
Long-lasting furniture should be used for as long as possible. That is why we take back used COR pieces and prepare them for a second life. Our team carefully assesses what needs to be repaired, replaced, or restored before these one-of-a-kind vintage items are put back on the market. This protects existing resources and minimises waste.
