Application Area
Partial refurbishment of the BBF – the DIPF’s Library for Research into the History of Education. The entrance, reception and lounge areas have been adapted to meet the current requirements of a modern, multifunctional library. The new counter forms the head of this sculpture, reaching out to welcome visitors and serving as a central hub for all library functions. The sculptural structure, with its cantilevers and recesses, elegantly avoids the need for alterations to the existing acoustic ceiling. It accommodates large-scale exhibits from the collection, complements these with quotations from prominent educators, provides seating alcoves and spaces for temporary exhibitions, and thereby establishes connections with the adjacent lounge and functional areas, linking them through carefully positioned views.
