First COR Studio in Berlin

The East Westphalian seating furniture manufacturer COR is defying the Corona crisis and opening the first COR studio in City West jointly with the Cramer Group. Prominently located on the corner where Grolmanstraße and Ku'damm meet, the two-storey studio covers more than 250 m² and presents the entire product and brand world of COR.

COR Studio Berlin opened its doors quietly and discreetly, as a grand opening is unthinkable in the current circumstances. Behind the large, continuous window front, the daylight-flooded loft with its own gallery extends all the way to the green inner courtyard. The light-grey floor made of flowing screed sets off the colours of the COR fabric and leather collection perfectly. It is the ideal stage for the premium manufacturer's easy chairs, sofas and seating groups. The bicolour Trio seating landscape is joined by Nenou seating elements, and the Moss sofa is complemented by the Drop stools from the COR Lab collection. Dining table seating groups and bar situations can be experienced, as can loungy living room situations, with Avalanche, Pilotis or Mell Lounge. Another special feature is the complete Conseta Competence Centre, which provides advice on the many options available for the design classic.

The COR Studio Berlin is part of the Cramer Group, which has its headquarters in Elmshorn. In addition to the current five furniture stores in Elmshorn, Hamburg and Berlin, Cramer also has a woodworking shop and produces custom-made system furniture at its Elmshorn location. Founded in 1962, the company is now family run in the second generation. The many years of productive cooperation with COR finally led to the joint project in Berlin at the beginning of the year. Agreement was quickly reached on all the details, and the project was implemented very swiftly. "We have been working with COR Sitzmöbel for over 20 years within the Cramer Group, we are partners at all locations and know the potential of this brand," Nils Cramer comments on the cooperation.

Even though COR is clearly the centre of attention, the studio is not a pure 'monoculture'. In addition to the entire COR product portfolio, which can be experienced live and in use, the individually manufactured system furniture such as shelves, sideboards and cabinets from the Cramer woodworking shop is also on display. The various living worlds are complemented by home accessories from Zanat, Imperfetto Lab, Serax and many others. A special cooperation exists with the Berlin-based textile designer Catharina Mende, who produces colourful plaids, scarves and blankets using only natural materials. The exclusive partner in Berlin is the carpet manufacturer 13rugs, a subsidiary of the traditional weaving mill rohi in southern Germany. It produces unique pieces from woven fabric remnants with the help of an innovative felting process.

"We are proud of the first COR Studio Berlin and very confident that it will be a success. We are particularly looking forward to expanding our partnership with Cramer, because it takes entrepreneurial courage and vision to open the studio at a prime location in Berlin," says Leo Lübke, adding: "We would be delighted if this pilot served as a model for other cities."
