Cologne/Rheda-Wiedenbrück, January 2017. Intense colours, natural shades, combinations of three-dimensional materials with leather, structured floors and intimate lighting moods: Using these "ingredients", Peter Kräling (planning) has created the new stage design for the brand world. Easy chairs, sofas and upholstered chairs, all protagonists of contemporary furniture design, provide an overall embodiment of COR's contemporary interior design in 2017. The new home scenarios seem modern and generous, yet comfortable and intimate: An oasis rather than a spectacle, says Kräling, is the model for living with COR. "We inspire people to create their own style," adds CEO Leo Lübke. Guidelines for this unwritten residential law are provided by the new exhibition presentation. (Styling: Irina Graewe)
Amuse-gueule, followed by new seating variations
Do you have an appetite for beautiful furniture? The new round ROC easy chairs come in guava, curry and soft anthracite, covered with leather and the new 3D fabrics. Right next to them, the new Mell bench awaits, all in black leather and chrome. Welcome to COR! Anything goes, but in style, please!
By turning to the right, two Pilotis presentations can be compared. In fabric or perhaps rather in leather? The former is combined with ROC easy chairs, the colour schemes are a dark terracotta and petrol as well as dark oak for the side tables. The upholstered sofa is particularly elegant in the new truffle-coloured leather that envelopes the outside of the body. The interior surfaces and cushions are decorated in a variety of grey melange tones. New wood and leather impressions are conveyed by the dining table Delta in light ash, flanked by Jalis chairs with black leather upholstery.
Conseta, freshly prepared
In 2017, the design classic Conseta presents itself in a fresh fir green as an open-base sofa corner combination with a light, elegant touch. And as a beautiful complement: The new easy chair Flint in goblet shape with a 3D-look fabric cover in guava. Classic modernity is then represented by a spacious leather sofa in the new colour espresso, with the open-base furniture sporting runners in gently shimmering black chrome. Its refined companions are the small Pilotis tables in natural walnut. The next upholstered sofa from the Conseta collection, which combines fawn leather with ecru-coloured mohair for the stool element, is somewhat more grounded.
Pastels and aubergine
How can the new solo easy chair Flint also be presented in full colour? Think of delicately coloured meringues! We present the premiere model in light pink (with fabric cover) as well as in the new nude shade for leather. Matched to this is a gentle contrast in aubergine. This colour scale is ideal for combining; also by designing the upholstery surfaces of the body and interior in different colours.
From spicy to soft, violet to vintage
The seating furniture Roc and Cordia Plus (easy chairs), as well as Jalis and Fino (upholstered chairs) perform as a quartet. Their individual appearance includes fabric covers in shining lemon and soft violet, or medium brown and night black leather. The adjacent Trio sofa landscape is also wrapped in leather, this time in the colour shade camel. Worked in very high quality and stitched only "open" – rather like furs – it forms the essence of our new, refined leather collection. Only lightly glazed with a fine wax emulsion, the leather retains all its natural characteristics. The slightly cloudy initial patina has a vintage character and becomes more pronounced with use.
Sea blue and orange
The upholstered system Trio is entirely in its (blue) element when it simply goes around the corner when arranged side by side, module by module. The generous, right-angled upholstery surfaces have raised back and armrests in light grey and are slightly rounded on the inside. Zyklus, the easy chair with a tubular steel frame, designed in 1984, is reminiscent of the luminous colours of a sunrise. It is currently not shown classically, but in vibrant colours: The cushions are orange and the structural parts are lacquered – in pink!
Noble nuances of grey
How to bring shades of grey to life? Mell Lounge, the cubic sofa with a soft interior, comes completely in leather. The premium quality "puro" of the natural material is emphasized by a warm, dark anthracite. Just as fine and distinctive is the stone-grey pure wool material with 3D fabric in which the Cordia Lounge joins the group as a comfortable easy chair. Both grey shades appear again in the tables of the Mell collection.
Fireplace suite or smokers' lounge? The description may vary depending on the living style, but with a modern Cordia lounge chair the furniture is sure to fit perfectly; ideally in the new leather colour espresso. The colour family is joined by a deep black-brown and anthracite for a further chair configuration including a stool.
Flamingo and red
Naturally, comfortable relaxation areas can also be created in multiple colours with sofas and easy chairs from the Mell family. The flamingo tone and a light, almost salmon-like red are representative of expressive colour schemes. High-quality woollen fabrics are ideal as reference materials to intensify the sensual effect.
Fresh breeze for round tables
The mint/grey upholstery of the new Mell bench, which is joined by Cordia chairs in a powerful indigo, is pleasantly cool. In the centre stands a deep blue Conic table - and the round table with a fresh kick is perfect.
