COR at Design District Rotterdam for the first time

The German premium furniture brand is presenting its COR LAB products impressively at the most important interior design fair in the Netherlands, which is taking place from 5 to 7 June in the historic Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam/Rheda-Wiedenbrück, 5 June 2019. For the past 15 years, the East Westphalian seating furniture manufacturer COR has specialised in product developments and customised solutions for the contract sector. Its market shares in the contract business are growing and the focus is currently on major international projects. Reason enough to take part in the renowned Design District Rotterdam.

COR LAB – this comprises six innovative pieces of furniture developed in collaboration with four international design teams. They expand the product range for the workspace, allow innovative usage concepts and appeal equally to overarching target groups – property planners and home experts.

The COR LAB project was created in 2016 when four design teams were brought together in an ideas workshop: Office Uwe Fischer and the studios Aust&Amelung, Relvãokellermann and Pauline Deltour. Dedication to craftsmanship, sensitivity to the processing of high-quality materials and openness to new design approaches inspired all the designers to implement and reinterpret precisely these values in their designs. During the joint presentation in COR's development department, the potential to position the furniture as a compatible ensemble in the sense of a collection quickly emerged.

For meetings in a creative atmosphere, where good ideas count more than the minutes, Uwe Fischer designed the height-adjustable table Level and upholstered bench Bridge. Intimate work lounges can be created with the sofa program Floater by designer Pauline Deltour, who added in the stool Drop as a playful tool. Based on their original idea of a mobile, functional trolley, the designer duo Aust&Amelung developed a whole family of elegant side tables by the name of Bond. In the COR LAB collection, they act as links that can be combined with all pieces of furniture. With the innovative room divider system Chart – a design by Ana Relvão and Gerhardt Kellermann – functional zones can be created in spacious, open rooms.

COR also has an answer to the question of how to design seating furniture that invites people to work or hold confidential conversations: The Scope range of contract furniture is based on the shape of the polygon, has vertical backrests and a comfortable seating shell on the inside. It looks best standing alone in the room. Additional elements allow the backrest surfaces to be raised and extended up to a height of 1.42 metres.

In the contract sector, the seating furniture manufacturer COR is regarded as a productive specialist in the furnishing of high-quality properties and projects – including Google, Motorola, PricewaterhouseCoopers and SAP.
