COR

The new models in 2015

In furniture design, a good chair is considered a challenging task. We show how to master it with Roc and Cordia as well as the redesigned classic Fino. Lounge culture with the softness factor comes from Mell Lounge - with loose seat cushions.

COR stands for the freedom to surround yourself with furniture that is beautiful, comfortable and meets your innermost needs. At home in a private setting or at your place of work – because the demands made of comfortable seating furniture stay the same, wherever it takes up position. As with a good menu, what counts most for our collections is excellent, fresh ingredients and a stylish composition that is also a feast for the eyes.

Cordia – upholstered chairs

Our new models, designed by Jehs + Laub in Stuttgart, come from a good family: In addition to easy chairs and side tables, the Cordia collection now also offers upholstered chairs that combine aesthetic comfort with ergonomic design. The characteristic corpus, upholstered seat shells with armrests, has elegant backrests in two different heights and a tilting mechanism. The substructure comprises an aluminium frame with feet on glides or castors. Alternatively, it is executed as a wire frame, either chrome-plated or lacquered. Distinctive quilting seams emphasise the contours of the design, whose covers can be highly individually customised with alternating colours and materials. This makes lasting seating pleasure at the dining table or work not only comfortable, but also visually appealing.

Roc – coming full circle

This almost playful design of a round upholstered chair, with which we are extending the circle of our seating furniture, comes from Prof. Uwe Fischer. No matter how you look at it (including the name), the Roc chair is typically COR and at home in many places: in the bistro, at the dining table, in the living room or at the office. Individual covers in fabric or leather underline the curved shape of the half-shell with high or low back. The substructure design comprising two facing aluminium clips is both structurally and aesthetically appealing. They look cooler when polished, and they add a special feature or blend into a harmonious whole when colourfully lacquered. A well-rounded design for the 21st century, precise and consistent in all its proportions and functions.

Inviting and light - Fino

Sustainable ideas go a long way, as the redevelopment of one of our most successful chair models proves. In 2015, Fino by Holger Janke has become more elegant and comfortable, and surprises with a sleek silhouette. Higher foam proportions in the upholstery provide more cosiness. Due to their slightly conical shape, the backrests invite you to sit back and relax. Different variants under the frames are also available to create a personal favourite in fabric or leather. The furniture corpus can be combined with a chrome-plated or lacquered wire frame, oak or walnut wood as well as a swivelling central column.Cosy cushions – sofa and easy chair Mell LoungeLounges are intimate places, open to new experiences and a relaxed attitude to life. We lend form to this principle: geometric on the outside, soft and snug on the inside. To this end we have fitted Mell Lounge with loose cushions or continuous cushion surfaces, depending on the preference of their owners. The versatile upholstered furniture suite by Jehs + Laub rests on a fine metal frame and can be regrouped again and again, because its elements are easy to join together. The stools are free-standing or can be integrated into a seating landscape, the side end elements of the sofas can be supplied with or without armrests. The matching easy chairs form a successful extension of the lounge collection both as soloists and as members of an ensemble. With fine silhouettes, the upholstered models with a low or slightly higher back offer casual, elegant comfort. Depending on the desired function, the subframes can be executed with a more closed-type base with a swivel plate or on glides, as well as with a metal frame. The single easy hair Mell then seems particularly delicate, almost as if it were floating.

Take your places – Conic

In the new year we are also expanding our collection to include a variant of the Conic table designed by Murken Hansen. With the new orthogonal shape, slightly rounded at the corners, we are augmenting the original design – an oval – with a functional concept which can be used for convivial gatherings or as a conference table or spacious workplace. Experts appreciate the innovative materials: The central column, for example, is cast from Cristalplant, a composite material which consists largely of natural materials and is completely recyclable. The variety of design options becomes more obvious with the surfaces. In addition to solid wood finishes in oak, ash or walnut, there is a choice of lacquers in all RAL colours. The table looks particularly pure and refined in all crystal white.
